Fun on the water
The Province of Barcelona's two marine resorts are located closer than you think. One can be found to the south of the Catalonian capital, on the seaside promenade of Vilanova i la Geltrú, and the other, to the north, on the Les Dunes Beach at Santa Susanna. Sailing and windsurfing are the two leading water sports that you can learn or perfect, but you can also go kayaking, underwater diving, water skiing and kite surfing, among other equally exciting activities.
In the case of the Santa Susanna marine resort, seaside activities can be complemented by walking and mountain biking in the Montnegre-Corredor Natural Park. Whether you go with or without a professional guide, your trips into the Pre-coastal Range will enable you to discover beautiful places and admire the sea from a new perspective. And in Vilanova i la Geltrú, the proximity of the Garraf Park, the world of wine and the Romantic heritage of the city all combine to offer leisure and cultural activities that you will undoubtedly find very interesting. You can also enjoy a stroll through Vilanova's fishing port, especially when the trawler fleet returns. Around eight o'clock in the morning and in the early afternoon, you can watch the fish being unloaded – it is quite a sight!
Planning on extending your visit? These marine resorts make it easy for you by offering the possibility of booking packages that include water sports, accommodation and other complementary services so that you can enjoy the best holiday on the Costa Barcelona.
Santa Susanna is one of three resorts recognised as 'Sports Tourism Destinations' by the Catalonian Tourist Board. Would you like to know the others?
