The stars of the kitchen
Sant Pol de Mar, Costa Barcelona, is the location of one of the few restaurants in the world that has three Michelin stars. The restaurant, Sant Pau, has earned the loyalty of its gourmet clientele thanks to the quality and originality of the cuisine of Carme Ruscalleda. The oldest and most famous restaurant guide in the world does not just give away stars, so, the next time you want to dine out at a high-class restaurant, Sant Pau could be the place for you.
Four restaurants in the city of Barcelona have received two stars his year: Jordi Cruz's Àbac, Paco Pérez's Enoteca, Martín Berasategui's Lasarte and Raül Balam's Moments. The Michelin Guide's demanding anonymous inspectors considered these exceptional restaurants sufficiently remarkable to warrant a visit.
Miquel Aldana's vermut-restaurant, Tresmacarrons, made its debut in the 2016 Michelin Guide and joined a large group of others in the province with one star. Can Jubany and Fonda Sala are located in Osona, Els Casals and Estany Clar in Berguedà, L'Ó in Sant Fruitós de Bages and Lluerna in Santa Coloma de Gramanet.
