Sports, Water & Fun
The Catalonian Olympic Canal, located in Castelldefels, is a great way of doing exercise in the open air. Next to the beach, surrounded by Mediterranean pines and built on the wetlands of the Llobregat delta, this artificial channel is a dream setting for doing all sorts of water sports.
Built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, the canal has considerable dimensions and is designed to satisfy the needs of all sportspeople: old and young, amateurs and professionals alike. The range of activities that you can do here is very broad and includes the vast majority of water sports and activities, from canoeing and sailing to peddle cars and water bicycles.
Children will be thrilled with the inflatable water park and have a great time riding the water slides, climbing the iceberg, balancing and jumping on the trampolines. Teenagers will love the Wake Park: featuring a 650-metre long cable, doing jumps on the water will take their breath away! And if you are concerned about safety, relax: at the Olympic Canal, you can hire out all of the equipment necessary to ensure a safe time on the water.
Did you know that Castelldefels is one of three towns in Costa Barcelona that has been awarded the Sports Holiday Destination seal of approval?
