A different view from the sea

If you like swimming, snorkelling, if you're passionate about the sea and want to discover the secrets of the seabed and the coastline, Costa Barcelona gives you the chance to do it safely by swimming the Vies Braves. Put your swimming costume on and discover this public network of marine routes through privileged natural surroundings

Sitges is a destination you have to visit, above all in summer: beaches, museums, a unique atmosphere; and now vies braves to help you discover the seabed while swimming and, at the same time, enjoying the town's unmistakable silhouette. Going from north to south, the first via or lane is between Ginesta Cove, right next to the marina of the same name, and the beach at Garraf with its brightly-coloured fishermen's houses on the beachfront.  The second one goes from Ponts beach to the beach at Aiguadolç, a stage that early autumn fills with the stars and fantastic characters of The Sitges Film Festival. The third route takes you from Cape Grills to a small cove, Home Mort, that once could only be reached on foot, and now by swimming!

Calella, awarded the Sports Tourism Destinations seal, is used to the sight of swimmers training and competing in its waters; it also holds a number of sporting events such as the Iron Man. But you don't have to be incredibly fit, the Calella Via Brava, between Garbí beach and Roca Grossa Cove, is a 1-kilometre route dotted with tiny coves such as Roca Pins, Pere and La Vinyeta, absolutely perfect for snorkelling.
But what if you love swimming and can't get to the beach? You don't need to find a swimming pool, surrounded by mountains, the 1-kilometre swim to the end of La Baells and back, is open year-round. Don't worry about the cold, in summer the water is at a perfect temperature of up to 23 °C.
If you love nature and want to get out of the heat, check the sea conditions, the weather forecast, follow the recommendations and discover Costa Barcelona from the sea. Swimming and making the most of the Vies Braves.
