Travel back to a twelfth century medieval palace in Vilafranca and visit VINSEUM, the Museum of Wine Culture of Catalonia (Museu de les Cultures del Vi de Catalunya), the first wine museum to open in Spain. During your visit you will learn about the history of a land known since ancient times for its vineyards and wine-making, as well as sample a few wines.
Following that, you can move on to the Modernist era and visit the Bodegas Codorníu winery, a modernist gem with over 450 years of history, located in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, about twelve minutes from VINSEUM by car or bus. The winery consists of a series of buildings that were declared Historical and Artistic Heritage sites in 1976, designed by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, a contemporary of Gaudí. After the visit, you can enjoy a complemetary winetasting.
