Serrano ham

Serrano ham is a product made from the hind legs of the pig using salt preservation methods. As it is a pork based product, it is an excellent source of quality animal protein and contains a high level of unsaturated fat.The salting method consists of leaving the ham to mature for a period of 210 days, salting it until it is dehydrated, leaving it to rest for a minimum of forty days and drying it for a minimum of 110 days. Serrano ham is enjoyed as an appetizer or served on bread.
