El Racó d'en Tomàs

El Racó d’en Tomàs is one of those restaurants that has to be discovered, with a menu filled with seasonal and imaginative dishes. The Catalan broad bean emulsion with crunchy black butifarra sausage, the foie medallion with caramelised pearl onions and white ganache, the grouper carpaccio in sunflower seed marinated oil, the Asturian cider steamed monkfish with broad bean juice and the steak tartar, which they prepare in front of the customer under the supervision of the maître, Montserrat Morales. For pudding, recommendations include chocolate fritters, pears in wine, vanilla ice cream and cinnamon oil. The wine list is very interesting, since the owner of this delicious racó (hideaway), Tomàs Cuadrado, has been a finalist in many international sommelier competitions, and has three hundred varieties with balanced pairings between food and wine. The establishment lives up to its name in Catalan, a small and cosy space to enjoy the excellent market cuisine.
