Tuset

The restaurant stands where not so long ago the emblematic Reno took its place. The old dining rooms have been modernised to house a kitchen serving simple yet up to date food. The décor comprises an on-view kitchen, modern painting, wooden floors and a lot of light, accompanied by a menu based on traditional cooking. The main courses include cod esqueixat salad, xatonada salad, peppers with anchovies or whitebait or green bean omelettes. For second course, the repertoire of traditional dishes continues, with squid in batter, fresh tuna with sesame and soya, salt cod tripe with chickpeas, goat liver with onions, brains in batter. There is also a selection of barbecued meats and grilled or sauteed fish and shellfish. As for dessert, they serve cuajada from Fonteta, a small village close to la Bisbal; crema catalana; apple cake, or banana churros with chocolate as a more exotic option. The wine list covers options from different Catalan denominations of origin and some of the most outstanding Spanish wines.
