Eggs, almonds and sweet products are what the children of Ullastret obtain during the Serralavella Festival.
In the past, on the fourth Wednesday in Lent, children used to visit houses singing the Serralavella song while they sawed a tree trunk representing the Vella Quaresma (an image representing Lent) in half. They were given eggs, almonds and sweet products. This represented a break from the forty days of abstinence during Lent. Ullastrell has adapted this tradition to the Serralavella Festival. Nowadays, there is a central celebration with children's activities on the Saturday, but the children continue knocking on doors. You know what you have to do!
