The Roca Cherry Fair
It was imported from beyond the Pyrenees into Arenys de Munt at the end of the 19th century. Now, the Roca cherries even have a fair dedicated to them.
A family of miners went to work in France. They tried some cherries from the area and they were so good that they decided to plant some in Arenys de Munt. More than one hundred years later, the Roca Cherry Fair was created to pay homage to this strong, yellow and red coloured fruit which is sweet and acid at the same time, that can only be found in the Maresme region. You can taste them and buy them at the fair that takes place around Saint John's Day (June 24).
