Casa Fuster

Casa Fuster occupies a magnificent building designed by one of the great architects of modernism, Lluis Domènech i Montaner. The building is catalogue-listed and has become a luxury establishment on elegant Passeig de Gràcia. The building dates from 1908 and was originally considered the most expensive in Barcelona for the wealth of its materials. It was renovated in 2000, making the most of its architectural quality and the uniqueness of the building, as evidenced by the railings of the balconies and the glazing work of the large picture windows through to the last pinnacle. The same philosophy permeates the interiors, where every detail has been cared for and where there are plenty of natural flowers, modernist-inspired furniture and lights in different hues. The spectacular Café Vienés, where classicism and modernism combine under a dome supported by marble columns, was the setting for a scene in the film Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Banquet rooms, several rooms for meetings and social events of all kinds, a shop and a fitness centre are the most modern facet of the hotel's facilities. The terrace, which has stunning views over the city and Passeig de Gràcia, has a swimming pool with terrace sundeck, loungers and a bar zone. Dining is available in the Aleia restaurant, with a menu that combines creative cuisine with Mediterranean tradition, prepared by a young team of chefs.
