Living Nativity Scene of La Pobla de Claramunt
A Christmas and community performance that fills the streets of the old town of La Pobla de Claramunt with magic and tradition every Sant Esteve.
Every December 26, for Sant Esteve, the old town of La Pobla de Claramunt is transformed with the Living Nativity Scene, a staging full of dialogue, music and local life. It is organized by the Living Nativity Scene Committee with the La Llobreia Cultural Association, the City Council and various local entities.
The children of the town—from P3 to 4th year of ESO—perform six main scenes and several micro-scenes of traditional trades: tilers, bakers, washerwomen, fishermen, carpenters, among others. It is customary for two performances to be held: one at 6:00 p.m. and another around 7:30 p.m. In recent editions, between 400 and 600 people have attended, with the participation of around 80–90 children. The theme and spaces change every year, but always with a traditional, musical and narrative tone closely linked to local life and culture.
