This restaurant, located in a 19th century building in the Born neighbourhood, is a classic example of a Catalan fonda. Tradition, elegance, quality and professionalism are the pillars on which this restaurant is built, serving traditional Catalan cuisine. From its menu, you can choose starters such as broth, pasta, granny's croquette potatoes, Fonda Europa cannelloni, black rice, ganxet green beans or Bages snails, among others. The capipota or lamb with thirteen cloves of garlic are the dishes that never change, as well as the oven-baked cod, the green beans in papillote, magret of duck or other suggestions to suit the season in the Catalan cookbook. The desserts keep up the tradition so there's no shortage of crema catalana, musician's dessert (dried fruit and nuts with muscatel) or homemade truffles. We should also mention the classic Anis del Mono sorbet. In general, everyone has a cone of olives as an appetiser whilst waiting and you can also choose from among the almost sixty national wines and some French entries on the wine list.
