Becaruda olive oil

Becaruda extra virgin olive oil is obtained from olives growing on trees which are more than a hundred years old and of the becarut variety, which is native to the Ullastrell area. The local growers have worked to recuperate the agricultural heritage of this ancient variety, which almost disappeared altogether because of reduced production. However, limited production of becaruda olive oil means that only four hundred bottles are produced each year. It is one of the most highly regarded products from this district because of its particular taste and it is produced using traditional techniques. Bear in mind that this olive oil is meant to be consumed on bread or in salads, and not cooked.
