The Ball del Ciri and the Castellterçol Dance
The Ball del Ciri and the Castellterçol Dance date back to the 17th century and are always danced together.
These two solemn, ceremonial dances feature dancers who wear the traditional outfits of well-off Catalan farmers from the 17th century. They are the main event of the Castellterçol town festival. On the Sunday, there is the Castellterçol Dance and a part of the Ball del Ciri. For the people of Castellterçol, the authentic dance happens on the Monday, when the entire Ball del Ciri is danced. This ends with bottle throwing which also symbolises the end of the town festival.
