The Manresa Dance of Death
The Dance of Death in Manresa is one of the few macabre dances that take place during Holy Week. Are you still not familiar with it?
The dance was introduced into the Easter Friday procession in the 1950s. And although it was not danced for some time, the Dance of Death in Manresa is now known as one of the few dances with this symbology that is performed in Catalonia. Ten dancers dress in black with a skeleton sketched on them and masks like craniums. They appear several times during the procession, but don't miss the most emblematic ballades: that of the departure from the Bishops Seat and that of Christ the King.
