In the 19th century, many Catalan people emigrated to Cuba to make their fortune. Vilassar de Mar shows you their legacy with the Indianos Fair.
Between 1800 and 1900, many people embarked on a vessel headed for Cuba in hopes of making their fortune. Many of them eventually came back and were known as Indianos. Vilassar de Mar's Indiano Fair remembers them and shows you the legacy that they left the town on their return. A route through the architectural and historical heritage is the main activity, but you can also take a stroll around the market of products from the high seas including coffee, rum and chocolate and the Cuban culinary route.
