In Puig-reig the traditional Tres Tombs has its own special name. It's called La Corrida. Do you know why?
According to tradition, on Sant Antoni's Day homage should be paid to packet carriers and animals. And this is why the cavalry and the xarrets are the main stars of the Puig-reig Corrida Festival. In this town in the Berguedà region, they also take the opportunity to honour one of the most important industries in the town with a fair: that of making cured meat. The most spectacular moment is in the afternoon, when the horses, mules and the donkeys add emotion to the races, also known as corrides.
