Mota de Sant Pere

The Mota de Sant Pere beach is nearly two kilometres long and is separated from the Platja Llarga by a breakwater and the Foix river. With its shallow waters, its fine sand and quiet environment, it is the destination of a large number of bathers during the summer. In addition, it is usual to see many fishing enthusiasts, especially when the sun sets at dawn. It provides first aid services , showers, toilets and foot-washers, and can be accessed by car. One must find parking on the streets of the nearby residential areas or along the promenade. Very close to it, is one of the nature spaces of highest ecological value in the area: The mouth of the river Foix. The recovery of this wetland has returned the village the chance to enjoy not only an important ecosystem, but also a new recreational area. The mouth is separated from the sea by a sand barrier formed by different currents that have created freshwater lakes inside it.
