Muffins

Muffins is a modernrestaurant, son of Chicoa, a famous name in Catalan cuisine in Barcelona, specialising in cod. Its food attempts to avoid culinary stereotypes. It aims to offer dishes that are always well-made with the guarantee of pleasing diners. So, the menu is drawn up with one foot in renewed Catalan tradition and the other in classic French influences, without forgetting seasonal produce, using simple and respectful cooking techniques. It even gives a nod to the latest trends, with suggestions such as steamed hake on a light cream of potato with crunchy ham, the tuna roast with tartar of escalivada or modern delicacies for dessert. In Muffins you can order both a sophisticated lobster salad and tripe with cap i pota, a wild mushroom sttir-fry with tender garlic shoots and elvers, sea bass grilled with chanterelles and spring onions or pig's feet stuffed with meat with an excellent wild mushroom sauce. However, there are two products that take centre stage: one is cod, so don't forget to try their selection of grilled cod, Barcelona's best pan-baked cod and cod au gratin with alioli; and the other is foie-gras that comes a thousand different ways, with port, in millefeuille with a fried egg, on a steak with a cream sauce and traditional crunchy matchstick potatoes or in carpaccio with truffle vinaigrette. The wine list includes over thirty classic national wines. With its highly appealing and innovative interior design, it creates cosy spaces where it is possible to talk business, meet friends or even enjoy a romantic dinner.
