Berga Resort

The Berga Resort logo includes the motto The Mountain & Wellness Center. It is, in fact, a mountain resort. It is located in the Pre-Pyrenees region, at seven hundred metres above sea level, on the outskirts of Berga, and with views over Pedraforca. The company that manages the resort describes it as a tourist and sports centre, as in addition to a spa and a health and beauty centre, it also provides very good sports and leisure facilities, as well as accommodation. The spa resort has a thermal spa circuit which they recommend is completed in one and a half hours, according to the following sequence: hydrothermal pool with neck and back jets, water beds, sauna, ice fountain, thermal pool, hammam or steam bath, Finnish sauna, shower temple (hot and cold), path of sensations (with hot and cold river stones), marble thermal loungers and a plunge pool with almost freezing water. The health area offers a huge range of treatments, and you can choose between western or oriental style therapies. A large number of physiotherapy techniques are also on offer. You can try mud and seaweed therapies, and also some other more unusual ones, such as green tea, with ginger or with peat. Oriental style treatments include Shirodara, an Ayurvedic therapy, which consists in pouring a small stream of water onto the forehead, and which is complemented here by a cranial massage. Another interesting experience is Bamboo Treatment, which includes a massage with a bamboo cane and reflexology, and Japanese treatment, based on exfoliation followed by moisturising. The choice of packages and programmes lasting two days is very extensive. The centre also has a specialist dietician. The resort occupies 5,000 square metres, 1,200 of which are given over to sports facilities. The fitness studio has 52 exercise machines. All the instructor-led activities take place in the multi-use room, such as physical fitness, dancing, martial arts, etc. There is also a multi-sport pitch, two paddle tennis courts, two tennis and two ping-pong tables. Courses are available for all these sports and customers can also book the services of a personal trainer. The centre has two indoor pools, both heated. The larger one is 25 metres long and the small one has massage jets and a chair enabling disabled customers to get into the water. Outside there are two more, shaped like a beach and surrounded by grass. One of them, aimed especially at children, is very shallow. With regard to accommodation, there is a campsite which has plots for tents and caravans, and wooden huts, mobile homes and chalets. The campsite guests have free access to the Spa, although passes are also available by paying a monthly fee.
