Bonanova

In this type of typical fonda, that used to be the Casino de Sant Gervasi, with table football and snooker tables, you can try out traditional Barcelona cuisine such as capipota (tripe stew), the beans with butifarra or char-grilled meat. Its classic décor is characterised by modernist paintings, old furniture and a lovely inner patio, open in the summer. The menu upholds traditional dishes such as the oven-roasted back of lamb, bubble and squeak from Cerdanya, partridge with vinaigrette, squid stir-fry with garlic shoots, veal cheeks with apples and confit spring onions, stewed oxtail, baby octopus with broad beans and ham or steamed fish. The dessert list is long although the honey ice cream comes highly recommended. The short wine list includes the main wines on the market. It has group areas and its own car park. It has been fitted out for people with reduced mobility.
