Beyond the Tour: six road routes for discovering the province of Barcelona

From Maresme and Berguedà to Penedès and Montserrat, these road cycling routes through the province of Barcelona make it possible to discover landscapes of the Pre-Pyrenees, vineyards, coasts and emblematic massifs that go beyond the route of the Grand Départ of the 2026 Tour de France.

From Barcelona and the mountain passes of Berguedà to the vineyards of Penedès, the Montseny Massif and the Maresme coast, the province of Barcelona offers road cycling routes where you can discover the various regions in all their aspects. The Grand Départ of the 2026 Tour de France played a role in spotlighting Barcelona as a cycling destination of reference, but the province's appeal goes far beyond the race route. Here are six road routes where you'll discover diverse landscapes, mountain passes, wilderness areas, villages with heritage and side roads ideal for enjoying cycle tourism throughout the year.

Before setting off, be sure to check the condition of the roads and paths. During periods of fire risk, some roads may be temporarily closed to ensure everyone's safety. We ask that you please care for the local area and help preserve it for everyone who wants to enjoy it.
