Carnaval de Terra Endins (Inland Carnival)
It’s the most famous carnival in the Osona area. The Inland Carnival of Torelló lasts a whole week!
The festivities get underway on Fat Thursday with the Pullassu, a fun, festive, sexually-themed parade that aims to unleash all the elements necessary for a week of carnival festivities. Another big event takes place the following day: the Night of the Little Ladies and Little Men, when boys dress up as girls and girls dress up as boys. The Rua (parade) is held on the Saturday, and that’s when the best kept secret —that year’s fancy-dress costumes— are finally revealed. The carnival festivities come to a close on Ash Wednesday, with the so-called burial of the sardine.
