Sant Andreu de Llavaneres Pea Festival
The market gardens of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres are renowned for the peas grown there. At the Pea Festival, held every April, you can taste superb dishes made with the green pearl of the Maresme region!
The garrofal pea is one of the most appreciated varieties of this vegetable. The Barcelona trading records show that it’s been grown in the Maresme region since at least the 17th century. Planting begins in around October and picking starts in April, which is when Sant Andreu de Llavaneres celebrates the Pea Festival. During the festival you can savour the tastiest dishes, buy peas directly from producers and take part in a gala dinner.
