The Tonis Festival in Santa Eugènia de Berga
Santa Eugènia de Berga is once again getting ready for the annual Tonis Festival. Don’t miss the horse parade or the many other activities organised there!
In the past, the festival was organised by two administrators; they both had to be recently married, but one of them had to be from the town and the other a farm worker. They were in charge of decorating a float, an activity involving the entire town. Moreover, the townsfolk would load up their carts and complete the Tres Tombs (Three Laps) around the church. The only thing that has changed about the Tonis Festival in Santa Eugènia de Berga is the organisation. Nowadays, instead of two administrators, there’s a committee. However the collaborative float with the best decorations is still an essential element!
