Must-sees
Palau Güell

Built between 1886 and 1890 for Eusebi Güell, Palau Güell is Gaudí's first great work and a genuine gem hidden in the heart of La Rambla. The austere ground floor, in grey marble, contrasts magically with the play of colours and shapes of the twenty chimneys on the rooftop. The central hall, designed as a concert room, has a dome that looks like a starry sky and exceptional acoustics you can still enjoy today during your visit. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984, it's one of Gaudí's lesser-known works — and precisely for that reason, one of the least crowded and most authentic.
