Restaurant Pitarra

Pitarra is an iconic restaurant in the old town of Barcelona with a history which goes back to its founding in 1890. It is named after the playwright Frederic Soler Pitarra who lived here, and to whom the restaurant pays tribute by recovering his works, memories and possessions and keeping the interior layout almost intact. La Pitarra serves traditional market-fresh Catalan cuisine with creations such as carpaccio of tender ostrich with Parmesan cheese shavings, or suquet of monkfish medallions with ceps and Cadaqués-style prawns. A comprehensive wine and cava list accompanies the culinary offering from the Roig brothers.
