Gavà

The Gavà beach is behind the coastal quarter of Gavà Mar. It is known as the Pineda beach, a name which comes from the lush pine forest that extends from the Castelldefels to the edge of the sand. It is 3,550 metres long by forty wide and it consists of fine grain sand. The entry slope into the seas is very gentle and the seabed is sandy. It provides all types of services, along the entire beach. There are several playgrounds for children and a library as well as many access ramps into the water and amphibious chairs for the disabled. It is flanked in the centre by a pleasant promenade, which meanders between the dunes and pine trees. Along the promenade there are some bars and restaurants, and it has parking areas. The beach is limited, to the right by that of Castelldefels, and to the left by the wetland of Estany Murtra, a passage area of thousands of migratory birds, and by the Viladecans beach.
