La Ribera

La Ribera is the second beach that visitors find in the urban centre of Sitges, southwards from the church of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla. It is just after La Fragata beach. It is 275 metres long and is characterised by the fine grain sand and the shallow water. It is flanked by two breakwaters, like the other eight that are placed along the seafront, but considerably wider, with an average 25 metres. All of them are ideal for children, although they are very busy.To reach the beach you have to go down a few steps, although there are ramps for the disabled. It has showers and a lifeguard post, and beach bars and posts for sunbed and parasol rental. In the neighbouring beach, La Fragata, there is a sailing club and volleyball courts. On the seafront, which stretches to Les Anquines beach, there is a large selection of restaurants. La Ribera is a few metres from the picturesque narrow streets of the town’s old quarter.
