Sant Sebastià

Sant Sebastià is possibly the most characteristic beach of Sitges. It is 210 metres long and approximately 24 metres wide. It is comprised of the typical fine sand of the beaches of the area.It is in the urban centre at the foot of a small hillock on which the church of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla stands. The picturesque narrow streets that surround the church contain the interesting Cau Ferrat and Maricel museums. On the opposite side, climbing a little, is the hermitage of Sant Sebastià.Access to the beach is by some steps from the seafront, although there are also ramps for people of limited mobility. On the seafront there are several restaurants with their terraces open to the sea.The beach has showers and a sunbed and parasol rental service. There is a rocky area on either side of the beach. Special care must be taken when there are waves, as the sea can drag bathers on to the rocks. When the sea is calm, its shallowness makes it perfect for children.
