Garbí

The Calella beach stretches along the seafront of this town , between the Capaspre river and the lighthouse. It is approximately one kilometre long and 72 metres wide of yellowish coarse sand that enters the sea quickly. The Garbí beach has been the first beach in Catalonia to receive Q certification of quality . It offers several services: showers, areas where beach volleyball can be played, football and basketball, aerobics and activities for children, games, library, among others. It provides rental of deckchairs, sunshades and pedalos; in addition, it has some well-conditioned bars where there is a nice atmosphere. The disabled have the services suited to their needs: showers, toilets, wooden ramps and chairs for bathing. There is also a boat service that joins this beach with different seaside towns. The access to the beach must be necessarily made on foot , through the Riera passage and two more underground passages. It is ideal for all types of public . Under the Calella lighthouse, on the southern slope of the beach, there is a cove protected by the Montnegre foothills, the Vinyeta beach, where one can practice nudity . It is therefore inaccessible to vehicles, but there is a car park (not guarded) next to the N-II road.
