Banys Termals Caldes d'Estrac

In ancient times, the Romans and Muslims were already enjoying the properties of the water in Caldes d’Estrac, where they would go to have treatment. The current spa, a descendant of those ancient baths, was built in 1820. It is a one-storey building, with all the usual services associated with spa therapy and other facilities. There are bubble baths, high pressure showers, Finnish sauna, respiratory physiotherapy, electrotherapy , rehabilitation techniques and gym exercises. The water flows from a fissure in the granite rocks in the Maresme massif. It is taken to the town centre along a 23 metre long underground gallery. The water from this spring is suitable for mobility problems and the after effects of bone and joint trauma, respiratory complaints and rheumatic disease. There is no accommodation available at the resort, although they have agreements with neighbouring hotels, which offer discounts for spa customers. The centre is by the sea, on the Maresme coast. The area is particularly suitable for family holidays, due to the large number of amenities available and the quality of its beaches.
