Your trip

What to see

Foix Park

Do you like clean fresh air, unspoiled landscapes and exploring mountains and valleys along quiet trails? If you do, you will love the natural parks of the regions of Barcelona! Over a hundred thousand protected hectares have a lot to offer… So pick your destination and prepare your luggage. Peaceful rural tourism in contact with nature is awaiting you very close by.

Hiking on Pedraforca

Switch off from work. Get out of your chair. Put your smartphone away … Look! Just a stone’s throw away from Barcelona, there are a host of natural areas where you can enjoy nature. Among iconic mountains, pine and holm oak forests, peaks overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and quiet valleys, you’re sure to find an inviting setting that will have you reaching for your walking boots and backpack. Welcome to hiker’s paradise!

Path of the Good Men

Looking for an alternative to the usual mountain destinations? In the Pirineus Barcelona area, you can follow in the footsteps of the Cathars along the Camí dels Bons Homes (Path of the Good Men), a trans-Pyrenean route stretching from the Sanctuary of Queralt, in Berga, to the Château de Montségur, in the Ariège department in Southern France. This route is now a Long-Distance Path (GR-107) and is suitable for hikers, equestrians and —in most sections— mountain bikers. It’s a truly unforgettable experience, however you choose to travel it!

Montseny Natural Park

If you’re looking for a place with lovely mountain scenery close to Barcelona, look no further than the amazing Montseny Natural Park, set on the Costa Barcelona. Listed as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this massif has been the hiking school of countless Catalans, the place where many hiking enthusiasts first strapped on their backpacks. However, apart from going on long hikes or short walks, the park offers all sorts of options for having a great time.

A route on horseback in Osona

From the Serra del Cadí in the Pre-Pyrenees to the Mediterranean coast, you’ll find a wide variety of impressive landscapes in the natural areas of the regions of Barcelona. The pine forests of Maresme, the wetlands of Baix Llobregat, the cliffs of Garraf, the vineyards of Penedès or the rugged mountains of Berguedà are all magnificent settings that you can explore on foot, by bicycle or —why not?— on horseback. In an area with plenty of waymarked trails and a superb range of equestrian tourism options, what’s stopping you from going for a gallop?

More than 350 species of birds visit the delta every year

At sunrise and sunset, especially in the spring and autumn, the skies of the sixteen natural parks and reserves of the regions of Barcelona are filled with birds in agile flight. Located in the heart of this set of ideal landscapes for bird watching, the Llobregat Delta is the star attraction of the area. A true birding paradise awaits you, much closer than you might think!
