It’s most commonly accepted that the name “Ullastrell” comes from the word ullastre, meaning European olive tree, a tree which local farmers have cultivated for centuries in order to produce oil. Although olive oil has been produced uninterruptedly for hundreds of years, not everyone is familiar with the manufacturing process.
