It has been quite a few years (1931!) since Miquel Llor wrote Laura a la ciutat dels sants (Laura in the City of Saints), a successful novel set in Vic, a city that was renamed Comarquinal. Vic has changed a lot since then ... or perhaps not that much? The fog is still present on many days, and the iconic areas of the capital of Osona already attracted visitors: the Plaça Major, the cathedral, the streets in the centre ... A town steeped in history and heritage that is definitely worth visiting.

We give you some suggestions if you feel like trying something completely different, something that will definitely leave a lasting impression. A legacy with over 2,000 years of history. There is still plenty of evidence of the splendour of the Roman Empire in the regions of Barcelona: Roman cities and villas that show us what day-to-day life was like under the Romans. Their vast legacy is reflected in unique archaeological sites, museums and festivities.

Anoia is a region with a wide diversity of local products such as chick peas from Alta Anoia, arròs paperer (rice and meat stew), the tasty botifarra sausages from Calaf, the thousand flower honey and olive oil. The range of products grown and produced in the region is rich and diverse and, in some cases, little known. Discover the essence of Anoia's gastronomy by taking a journey through its most prized flavours.

Muleteers, ragpickers, stampers, weavers, tanners, potters, paper makers... The world has changed so much over the last hundred years that we sometimes forget that there didn’t use to be app developers, community managers or drone operators. Fortunately, there’s is an extremely effective antidote to such ignorance and forgetfulness! The museums that tell us about the jobs of our grandparents and help us understand who we are and where we come from.

If you long for real bread, the kind made with artisanal methods, local flours and sourdough, we have to tell you that you can still find it in places like the Lluçanès region. This is a land with its own identity, halfway between the Plain of Vic and Berguedà. It has a dynamic farming activity where food isn’t manufactured, it’s made! The Bread and Wheat Route will delight you, whether you’re a modern foodie or getting on in years and nostalgic for the past.
