The Granados 83 hotel is housed in a former hospital and has retained the distinctive architecture of the original building. It is located in the Eixample district, near the alluring Passeig de Gràcia. This peaceful, elegant area is packed full of summer cafés. The hospital was founded last century and belongs to the so-called 'architecture of the machine age', which was characteristic of the factories of the era. This style is also common in neighbourhoods in other cities, such as New York's Soho.When it was being restored, the rusted-iron elements were kept and integrated with simple, modern décor, which was blended with oriental art that creates a distinctive Zen atmosphere. By contrast, the facilities offer a certain sophistication. These include rooms, living rooms, a swimming pool, a sun deck, a terrace and a landscaped courtyard. The entire property has Internet access. There are 77 very spacious rooms, some split-levels rooms and some suites with terrace and private pool in the same room.
