The Palacio de los Cardona, which in days gone was home to accommodated royalty, has now been converted into the beautiful Hotel Duquesa de Cardona, located in the lower part of Barcelona, near the port and close to the Barri Gòtic and Las Rambles. The building features the classic architecture that is so typical of the city, but its construction dates back to the 16th century, when it was built on the initiative of one of the most influential families of the time. Its current appearance is the result of several renovations over the centuries.Distributed over its different floors are 44 spacious guest rooms with good views, some of which have been adapted for guests with disabilities. The vitality of the hotel is evident in its street-level terrace bar and, especially, on its spectacular rooftop terrace, one section of which is a pool and sun deck area, and the other, a bar serving tapas, which offers unique views over the port, especially at dusk. Its proximity to El Born, one of the city's neighbourhoods with most pubs, terrace bars and trendy restaurants, is ideal for also enjoying the nightlife.
