L’Ona

In 1952, it was known as Xiringuito de la Maria, after the mother of the current owner. Some 25 years ago it became the L’Ona (The Wave) restaurant, a very appropriate name for a place right by the Premià de Mar beach, alongside the sports harbour. At dawn, the early fishermen head down for breakfast. For that very reason, the restaurant stays loyal to its roots, opening up in the early hours of the morning. The very same seamen will provide the fish that they'll later consume as tapas, and the fish that everyone else will enjoy on a beach day out or a bank holiday getaway. The terrace, right by the sand, is one of the most popular spots, whether at midday or during summer evenings. You can try different plates of small fry and fried fish, which may include sardines or anchovies, steamed rock mussels, clams or grilled razor clams, snails, squid, calamari (the house speciality), a crayfish course, grilled prawns, a good rice dish, or even a fideuá. It is also an ideal place to enjoy an aperitif, such as a glass of vermouth.
