Balneari Broquetas

The Hotel Balneari Broquetas is in the town of Caldes de Montbui, known for its Roman thermal baths. Within the hotel complex there is still a fully operational Vaporarium dating from the 2nd century, the equivalent of today´s sauna.Declared a Protected Artistic Monument, the building was constructed in 1729 by Salvador Broquetas, the town´s pharmacist. Over time, it has undergone a number of renovations and extensions, which are reflected in the mix of styles inside. The hall and the bathing gallery, are particularly interesting, as they preserve their original modernist appearance. The Broquetas Spa uses water that flows out at 74 degrees. It is recommended for rheumatic complaints, traumatology, respiratory complaints and pathologies of the nervous system, obesity and stress. The spring water is also used to make cosmetics. As well as the usual techniques, over the last few years new services have been added, such as shiatsu massage, foot reflexology, seaweed baths and another very original one: peeling anti-stress crystallised honey, which helps to eliminate dead skin cells. The facilities at the centre include a modern gym and event rooms. There is also a heated swimming pool inside and another outside. Apart from its normal choice of dishes, the restaurant also has a low calorie menu.
