Do you like old shops? Those where everything is designed to display the products and make them stand out. Those where, wherever you look, you find giant mirrors, columns, staircases, giant cash registers and hidden details that transport you to another era. Many towns and cities have made an effort to keep the shops as they were, without modernising them unnecessarily. You can find examples just walking around, but there are places where these shops have become their own identity feature. Do you know where they are?

If there is an art movement linked to Barcelona, it is Modernisme. As a symbol of flamboyance and modernity for the bourgeoisie of that time, we still have many examples of this aesthetic revolution that emphasised curved shapes and highlighted the importance of detail and craftsmanship.
Barcelona is the cradle of this avant-garde art. Furthermore, in the different regions of Barcelona and very close to the city, there are also great gems that have largely gone unnoticed, perhaps because they are not on Passeig de Gràcia. If you have not visited them yet, you should do so as soon as possible.

Muleteers, ragpickers, stampers, weavers, tanners, potters, paper makers... The world has changed so much over the last hundred years that we sometimes forget that there didn’t use to be app developers, community managers or drone operators. Fortunately, there’s is an extremely effective antidote to such ignorance and forgetfulness! The museums that tell us about the jobs of our grandparents and help us understand who we are and where we come from.
