Can Marpons has been growing strawberries in the Maresme region for over 50 years. Located in Arenys de Munt, this family farm welcomes visitors to experience first-hand how this iconic fruit is grown in the region.
Stroll through the strawberry fields, learn how they are grown and harvest them yourself to taste them freshly picked. This is a perfect experience to enjoy with the family and connect back with nature. You can also visit the greenhouses and learn about the evolution of this crop over the years. 2- Can Xicoy – a farm and cheese dairy in Arenys de Munt (Maresme region)
At Can Xicoy, a family farm in Arenys de Munt at the foot of Montnegre, they produce artisan cheeses from the raw milk of their own herd of 400 goats. Explore the daily life at the farm, meet the animals and step inside the cheese factory to see how milk is turned into cheese. During the visit, you can tour the facilities, learn about the milking process and discover the role of each animal on the farm. To round it off, you will enjoy a tasting of the cheeses they have produced.
Tours are available on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Do not forget to stop by the shop to take some cheese home with you!
3- Xerigots – cheeses from the Penedès region
Xerigots, located in the heart of Vilafranca del Penedès, selects and ripens high-quality artisan cheeses, storing them in 19th-century wine vats to enhance their unique notes. This unique venue organises activities to promote cheese and wine culture, i.e. tours, tastings and pairings with wines from the Penedès Wine Tour. It also offers guided dinners and special events for those who want to delve deeper into this fascinating culinary world.
4- Simón Coll Chocolate Space in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia
In Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the Simón Coll Chocolate Space provides an immersive experience to explore the history and production of chocolate, from the cocoa bean to the end product. Find out how cocoa is turned into chocolate in this interactive space, learn Simón Coll’s history, watch the production process and round off the visit with a mouthwatering chocolate tasting. The 50-minute tour includes audiovisual presentations, live demonstrations and access to the shop with exclusive products. It is available in different languages and runs every day of the year, except for certain dates. They also offer combined tours with Penedès cavas for a full gastronomic experience.
5- Moió Melmelades. From fruit to jar (Font-rubí, Alt Penedès region)
At Moió Melmelades, the process ranges from fruit to jar, using artisanal, organic production methods with no additives. This family project, which was founded in 2018 in Font-rubí, focuses on local produce and sustainability, both when selecting fruit and building its workshop. 6- Mas Buret – artisan honey in Santa Margarida de Montbui (Anoia region)
At Mas Buret, a fourth-generation beekeeping business, you will discover the fascinating world of bees and artisan honey production. The guided tour includes watching the hives and tasting different varieties of honey directly from the beekeeper. The tour must be booked in advance and lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. They also have a shop and sell their products in local markets.
7- Cal Serrats – a morning as a shepherd in Argençola (Anoia region)
Experience being a shepherd for a day at Cal Serrats, a family business specialising in organic lamb. You will guide a flock of sheep, while discovering herding techniques and learning about the natural environment where the organic lambs are raised. The visit usually lasts from 8 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. until noon.
8- Ca la Teresona – fuet workshop in Vic (Osona region)
Would you like to make your own fuet? At Ca la Teresona, an iconic delicatessen in Vic with more than six generations of history, they offer a hands-on workshop, where participants can make their own artisan fuet. During the activity, which lasts 1 to 1.5 hours, the meat is prepared, stuffed and tied, and then dried in the delicatessen's facilities. Participants can label their fuet with their name and monitor the drying process using the FuetCam. The experience can be rounded off with a tasting of artisan sausages along with bread with tomato and a drink.
9- Cerveza del Montseny – tours and craft beer tastings in Sant Miquel de Balenyà (Osona region)
Cervesa del Montseny is a microbrewery specialising in quality craft beers. They offer guided tours of their facilities, where participants can learn about the brewing process and enjoy a tasting of several beers paired with a light meal. 11- Destil·leries Bosch – ratafia and liqueurs in Sant Quirze de Besora (Osona region)
Destil·leries Bosch, founded in 1892, is a family-run distillery located in Sant Quirze de Besora, where they make ratafia, a traditional Catalan liqueur handcrafted according to a recipe that has been handed down for five generations. They offer guided tours of their 19th-century distillery, where visitors can learn about the history of the Bosch family, learn about the production process and taste their liqueurs and spirits. Visits take place on the first Saturday of each month and last one hour. During the tour, you will be able to experience the history and authenticity of the facility where ratafia is made and discover some of the secrets that make Ratafia Bosch unique.
12- Cervesa Sant Jordi at the foot of Montseny (Vallès Oriental region)
Cervesa Sant Jordi, located in Cardedeu, brews 100% natural craft beer in an Art Nouveau building designed by Manuel Joaquim Raspall. They offer guided tours of their brewery to learn about the history of the project, see the facilities and explore the craft beer brewing process. The tour includes a tasting of five varieties of their beers, paired with a snack.
13- La Frasera, artisan cheeses from the Vallès Occidental region
La Frasera cheese factory, located in Vacarisses, produces artisan goat's milk cheeses using traditional methods. They offer guided tours of their facilities, including the workshop and ripening chambers, with product tastings. Visits take place on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and last one hour. They also have a shop where you can buy their products directly.
