Sant Martí Sarroca Monumental Ensemble

To enter the domains of the Penedès DO is to open oneself up to a world of sensations where everything is possible. You can taste the elixir extracted from the xarel·lo grape variety, smell the numerous species of medicinal plants, enjoy a waterfall and thrill to the sight of a human tower being crowned by the enxaneta (typically, a child of about five years old). Accompany us on this route through Alt Penedès, a land that leaves its mark.

Before the Romans disembarked on the coast of what we know today as Catalonia, the peoples generally referred to as the Iberians occupied the length and breadth of the area between the 6th and 1st centuries BC. They often built hilltop settlements, some of which have survived to the present day. Come and explore 4 Iberian settlements that have been turned into museum facilities. The regions of Barcelona were home to different tribes and each of these sites is devoted to one of them.

Catalonian Museum of Wine Culture
