Masia Bou

The calçotada mansion: this is how Masia Bou presents itself and how it is known, as a real institution in Catalan hospitality, running since 1929. Four generations have run this restaurant. It is ideal for daily lunches and for major celebrations, from wedding feasts to business conventions. For these events, they have five different lounges for every occasion. La Galeria and the Caçadors room are the smallest, with room for thirty and fifty diners, respectively. On the Noble floor and the in the Caça pavilion, there is room for more than one hundred people, whilst the Ciutat de Valls room is reserved for larger events with capacity for 350 people. It has always revolved around calçot cuisine that is a complete ritual in Masia Bou. As they say themselves 'it's one thing to eat calçotsand quite another to take part in a calçotada.' So every year, when the season comes around, they organise special menus that include calçots (roast green onions) with their typical sauce, Valls sausages with beans, char-grilled lamb with garnish and an excellent crema catalana for dessert. In short, this is one of the heartiest meals in the Alt Camp region, including a good white or red wine. Apart from this essential tradition, they serve seasonal cooking that varies throughout the year depending on products available in the market, although the menu nearly always features some game.
