Calop

A young team, modern and minimalist décor and traditional yet up-to-date Catalan cuisine for the identity of Calop, a restaurant located on the outskirts of Molins de Rei. The à la carte menu has a wide range of dishes to choose from, and a full repertoire of classic ideas dressed up in modern techniques and taken to the table. The starters include traditional dishes such as acorn-fed cured ham,the cheese board and the vegetable stir-fry; or other new ideas such as tartar of salmon with macadamia nut vinaigrette; sardines with watermelon and cold garlic and almond soup with salmon roe; or scrambled egg with onion, artichokes, shitake mushrooms and rooster combs. Main courses are designed to provide something for everyone. For meat-lovers, ideas include Iberian pork cheeks glazed with two textures of chestnuts and sunflower seeds; lamb glazed with purée of carrots, potatoes and shallots, or pigs' feet with squid, chanterelles and black pudding soup. If you prefer fish, they make cod steaks with wild mushrooms and quince jelly; scale fish with pumpkin confit and tomato and shallot vinaigrette; or monkfish with bacon and cream of pumpkin with wild mushroom oil. The desserts are also very popular at Calop; anyone with a sweet tooth can enjoy recipes such as the chocolate fondant with toasted corn ice cream, panna cotta with blood peach and passion fruit ice cream or pears with dark and white chocolate and lemon toffee.
