Bouquet d'Alella

Bouquet d'Alella was created in 2010 by the Cerdà brothers, heirs of the viniculture tradition of their father, Antoni Cerdà. The name of the winery, established in the centre of the town of El Alella (Maresme), is taken from the Can Boquet farmhouse the family owns and the French word for the aroma of wine. The project revolves around two different yet complementary objectives: the production and sale of ecological wines and the promotion of wine tourism. On the thirteen-hectare estate, they work with vines planted 25 years ago using environmentally friendly techniques. The plots are distributed among the townships of Alella, Teià and Vilassar de Dalt, all under the DO Alella. The geographical distribution of the plantation allows the wines produced by the Cerdà brothers to be nurtured by the different sub-climates and soils of the Maresme region. The cellar is located inside the gorgeous 14th century Can Boquet farmhouse. In this age-old space, they produce limited-edition ecological wines with the latest technology from the white varieties Pansa Blanca (Xarel·lo) and Garnacha Blanca and the reds Syrah, Garnacha Tinta, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Monastrell. After resting in French, Central European and American barrels, the four Bouquet d'Alella wines are nearly ready to be marketed. These are Bouquet d'A Blanc, Bouquet d'A Blanc+, Bouquet Syrah and the sweet wine Bouquet d'A Pur Dolç, which debuted in the spring of 2013. Both the cellar and the vineyards are worth visiting. The Cerdà brothers propose three ways to do so as a couple, as a family, or with friends: a picnic among the vines with a basket filled with a bottle of wine and local products, a visit to the vineyards and the sampling of the first three wines produced by the winery, or an a hour-long tour by 4x4 through the vineyards, which culminates with a tasting of Boquet d'A Blanc.
