Montserrat mountain is one of the cultural, spiritual and religious symbols of Catalonia – a place where people go to see the shrine of the Black Madonna and the children of the choir singing the Virolai hymn. But Montserrat is also a natural park with its own personality: provided by the dozens of rounded needles that characterise its line of summits.

What a pleasure it is to immerse ourselves in the vastness of the mountain and stroll through the quietness of the forests. What a joy it is to share the experience with family members and friends or enjoy it on one’s own. However, we must be aware of the fragility of nature and, therefore, how important it is for us to be informed and get to know our environment well in order to have the least possible impact on it.
Thus, today we want to celebrate European Day of Parks and Nature Week with the Kilian Jornet Foundation and its ten-point guide to good practices it has developed for Barcelona és molt més (Barcelona is much more). So that we can continue to enjoy nature with those we love most and take care of it so that future generations can do so too.

The abundance of water is one of the defining features of Capellades, a town nestling on the right bank of the Anoia River. Water carved escarpments where Neanderthals lived in prehistoric times. Much later, from the 17th century onwards, several paper mills were built along the river to take advantage of the plentiful flow of water. Still today, the same water attracts many visitors, keen to discover the wells, springs, lavoirs and reservoirs spread throughout this medium-sized town. Do you know the main attractions of one of the unmissable tourist destinations in Barcelona’s counties?
