The rabbits at Codinach

Where do eggs come from? What about the meat we eat? If your children are asking themselves these questions, what better way than to take them to find out for themselves? In the regions around Barcelona, several rural houses and farm schools offer the chance to see their work first-hand. Collecting eggs laid by hens, feeding lambs, petting calves or milking a cow are experiences you can enjoy if you decide to try one of the five activities described in this article. This is definitely also well-being or, rather, rural family well-being. Enjoy!

Children love nautical centers

When the good weather arrives, the beach is one of the tourist attractions that everyone likes, especially families with children, since the huge variety of seaside activities on offer guarantee hours of playtime, physical exercise and entertainment. What's more, on the Costa Barcelona there are six towns that hold the Family Holiday Destination seal, which means they're particularly attentive to children's needs. Would you like to know which ones they are?

Cripta de la Colònia Güell

Industrial buildings, crypts, wineries, gardens... The imagination of the architect Antoni Gaudí knew no bounds and he applied it to any challenge he was given, always in his unmistakable signature style. A century later, we have the good fortune to enjoy several sites in the Barcelona area beyond the capital city. Let’s go on a tour of the works by this genius. Are you ready?

Cardona Castle

For over five hundred years, a walled keep protected the riches of Cardona. But nowadays, this beautiful town throws the doors to its old town wide open and unveils all the secrets of its impregnable castle. Do you fancy a visit to the last Catalan stronghold to fall in the War of the Spanish Succession in 1714

On foot or by bicycle.

The Via Blava Anoia is a perfect option for nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts. With a route of about 19 kilometers, this gentle mobility trail follows the course of the Anoia River from Jorba to la Pobla de Claramunt, passing through villages and natural areas that allow you to discover the region in a different way. Whether on foot or by bike, it is an ideal one-day excursion, easily combined with cultural and gastronomic stops.

Fira Medieval i Festa de la Sal de Cardona

One of the most typical ways to relive the Middle Ages in Catalonia and Barcelona is to explore their vast Romanesque and Gothic heritage. But you may not know about the many mediaeval fairs that can be enjoyed throughout the year in several towns close to Barcelona.
