The Castellterçol Moixiganga
Castellterçol enjoys Holy Week with the recreation of the life of Jesus and the Moixiganga dance.
It is Holy Saturday. The streets of Castellterçol are dark and in absolute silence. A retinue carries torches and candles to the old town square accompanied only by the sound of drums and flageolets. When they arrive in the square, the Moixiganga dance starts. This very ancient dance recreates the Passion of Christ by means of different figures and acrobatic exercises. A narrator explains which moment of the Passion of Christ each figure represents. Have you ever seen a Holy Week celebration anything like this?
