La Vaquería

The name could not fit any better as this classic restaurant in Barcelona stands in a former dairy. We are reminded of these early days by both the sculptures in the restaurant and the 1929 photography hanging from the walls, showing what the old stables used to look like. The atmosphere right now is welcoming with a romantic touch, with wooden tables, elegant curtains and rugs that play with the beautiful light. The premises also combine three different spaces to give you the perfect evening if you are there for dinner: the restaurant itself, the piano bar for intimate moments and La Boîte disco for a drink after a great meal. The menu is based on international cuisine, always using high quality, hand-picked products. They offer starters with specialities such as foie in terrine, the rice or house egg dishes, as well as a whole range of salads for starters. Meat dishes include salt-baked beef steak; millefeuille with foie, mushrooms and Rioja sauce; the steak tasting dish in the form of three 'La Vaquería' sauces; the tartar or the hamburger. There is also fresh fish, such as the duet of carpaccios of salmon and cod, the supreme of turbot with rosemary oil and crunchy bacon or trunk of line-caught hake Donostia-style. Their classic desserts are a real temptation. The tiramisu, tocinillo de cielo, tarte tatin or chocolate mousse are just some of their ideas.
